We had a great weekend in Klamath Falls with Jerry and Liz Lo. We stayed at the Running Y resort and visited several of the surrounding attractions. The Favell Museum was very nice. There were so many different pictures and artifacts. One carving in particular cautht Sheryl's attension.

Creater lake was breathtaking. It was not a blue as it could have been, there were a few high clowds overhed. It sits at about 7,700 feet above sea level. They have a beautiful lodge that they had just closed for the winter. I guess they get up to 40+ feet of snow up there every year.

It had reciently snowed there and it was melting off a bit. There is a volcano inside of a the volcano in the lake. If you go there in the warm season you can take a boat out to the island. The path to the lake was closed and under renovation. You can see the edge of the volcano island just to the left of the photo below.

We also visited the Lava Beds National Park. This is a panoramic view of the beds.

This is the opening to one of the caves that were created from the lava flows. The park service has improved the path into the cave for better acess. In the caves that are away from the visitors center, you had better have a good flash light, or head lamp. It gets dark fast.

Looking back from deeper in the cave you can see the shape of the cave with the light shining through.

The floor of the cave is covered with water, and a layer of ice. They call it an ice floor. It was interesting to see that it was so cold down there. In that cold I could see my breath. I have never been in an underground cave that was that cold. Usually the temp stays around 60 degrees... but not down there.

This tube went back a long ways. I turned around and took this picture when the ceiling started getting lower.

You never know what you'll fine underground.

On our way to Klamath Falls we stopped in Redding and visited the Sun Dial Bridge.

The deck surface is constructed of glass pannels. Not sure if they were ever transparent, but you cannot see through them now. Still, it was very impressive.

We had a wonderful time with the Lo's. We spent a week all in all. Also learned to play MaJong. Love that game.

I have not been to Lava Hot Springs since I was a young boy. We hauled our trailer up there and met with friends and family...what a great time. Now if we can just get them to come our way. Maybe camp on the ocean beach.

When life throughs lemons at you, make lemonaid. Brenda can definitely make awesome lemonade. Michael Sean and Brenda are certianly in love, and I gained another grandson. I sure love these guys. We had a wonderful experience in Florida this year at their wedding.

This last year Bruce and Jerolyn came to visit us. While they were here we visited the Avenue of the Giants. The giant Redwood Trees were impresive. We stayed in a wonderful bed and breakfast near Fort Bragg. I wanted to share a few pictures from that trip.
